testing recommendation in south bay?

The last time I went to my doctor to get tested, it was like pulling teeth.
"Why do you want to be tested for everything? Do you know you've been exposed?"
"No. And I don't know that I haven't been exposed. That's why I want the tests."

I don't have a problem with paying my doctor for the tests, if that's the best way.
But I wonder about his knowledge in this area, versus someone at a
clinic who deals with this field every day.

Here's what I've gathered from reading previous posts.......

It sounds like City Clinic (and many places in SF) are overloaded,
and probably as difficult as my doctor. API may be an option (apiwellness.org)

The tests I should get are:
-chlamydia
-syphilis
-gohnorrhea
-HIV
-Hep A & B
-Blood herpes test (no active outbreak -- "Be sure to get the type-specific IgG.")

(what's IgG?)

And I know I should get the printed results, so I'm absolutely clear what got tested,
and the result of each test.

Anything you can add?
Do you know of somewhere to get tested in the South Bay?

In the South Bay, I've heard the place to go is the Crane Center, 105 N. Bascom Ave, Suite 101, San Jose (408) 885-7000:

    www.sccgov.org/portal/sit...8bb35cda429

Santa Cruz Aids Project offers free, anonmymous HIV testing while you wait:

    scapsite.org/

I've gone to the SF City Clinic, and it did take about 2 hours to get all the tests you listed done. But it's practically free, and they're really great, plus you can get the results online with a unique id and password you select, so it was worth the drive up from the South Bay. It's best if you get there right when they open.

Here's the scoop on Crane Center:
They do walk-in HIV testing for free, results in 20 minutes. (I'm negative, no surprise)

By appointment, and for $20, they will test you for chlamydia, syphilis, and gohnorrhea.
They have a Hep C test, but they only give it to IV drug users.
They don't have a test for Hep A&B, or herpes.

I may go to City Clinic for the rest. But I have heard it is difficult to get tested for something unless you are in a high-risk category for it. And I'm not in a high-risk category for anything.
So I may end up going to my doctor, who might have my immunization records for Hep A&B anyway.
